Meg Charles is a Los Angeles–based photographer and creative director working across fashion, portraiture, brand campaigns, and motion. Her concept-driven practice begins with research and idea development, transforming initial ideas into fully realized visual worlds and cohesive campaigns through creative direction, art direction, photography, and film. From mood boards and treatments to casting, styling, set design, production, and final edit, Meg considers how every element contributes to the larger story.
Expression has always guided the way Meg moves through the world. With a background in dance and the performing arts, she brings an instinctive understanding of movement, gesture, character, and emotion to her work. She approaches image-making the way a filmmaker shapes a scene, thinking in location, texture, and light to uncover the emotional pull and subtle tension within a moment.
Working across digital and analog photography, digital motion, and Super 8 film, Meg creates cinematic imagery that feels expressive, lived-in, and carefully constructed. Her work explores character and transformation, balancing emotional depth with beauty and the unexpected.
Meg received her BFA in Photography and Imaging with Honors from ArtCenter College of Design.
